There are two trails that lead to the
cliff dwellings in Rogers Canyon.
The easiest starts at Rogers Trough and follows a stream bed
to
the cliff dwellings. This trail has a gradual slope all the
way
to the cliff dwellings. The other trail starts near Woodbury
cabin and has a lot of up and down involved in getting to the cliff
dwellings.

We had a scouting trip to the cliff dwellings on 1/29/2006, and from
that I have decided that only the trail starting at Rogers trough would
be suitable for an AAS sponsored hike. It took us 2 hr. 10
min.
to get to the ruins and 2 hr. 45 min. to return to the trailhead.
If the weather remains dry this should be an excellent trail.
The trail crosses a creek bed several times, so, if we start
to
get rain, the creek crossings could get tricky. On the 1/29
trip
the creek was bone dry. I found the ruins quite interesting
with
some very well preserved walls, and one ceiling that has been partly
damaged so that the underlying construction materials are
exposed.
I have some
photos of the site and views along the trail here.
