Follow these steps after you have finished installing and aiming your dish to the Telstar 5 satellite . Connect the satellite receiver to the Dish and the TV.
- -Press the menu button on the remote control.
- -Highlight INSTALLATION and press OK, ( the installation screen will be displayed ).
- -Highlight TP CONFIGURATION and press OK.
- -Highlight SATELLITE and press OK Button and scroll through the satellites to select Telstar 5_KU .
- -Press OK. Use the channel down to go to LNB ...If the value is not 10750 press OK and set the LNB type to Standard ....go down to LO.Freq. use the right and left arrows and adjust the value to 10750 ...press Menu twice to go back to the TP configuration screen.
- -Go to the freq. Table and lines by pressing the volume button left or right .
- - Using the channel down button scroll down and highlight the freq. 11898 line and press OK . - The frequency signal meter screen will be displayed .....adjust your dish to get the best signal . Rotate the LNB in both directions to maximize the signal.
- -Set the Polarization to AUTO or to Vertical (using the left and right volume arrows).....go down and adjust the symbol rate to 20000 ......Select yes for FTA only....Now you should get the signal on the second Q signal bar too , if not then start adjusting your dish and the LNB to get the best signal and Quality .
- -After you get the best signal , select Search Channel and press OK .
- -Please refer to our T5 Frequency list. IF the feq. you are looking for is not on the list, press the volume down arrow to go to Add then press OK.
- -Using the remote control enter frequency, symbol rate , and polarity , then go to search channel and press OK. Once the search is finished , press menu to go back to the previous menu .
- - Now you can view the channels by pressing the menu button, select TV CHANNELS , press OK, a list of all channels will be displayed, highlight the channel you want to watch, press OK to view it .
- -You can compose your own favorite TV and radio programs.....Please refer to the digital receiver Manual "Create favorite channel".
1. Press the menu button, select installation,
press ok, select EDIT TV LIST < press OK.
2. Highlight the channel you want to edit its
name, press INFO, press OK, a small screen will be displayed
that have all the letters
. To view number Press the INFO button .
3. TO select the letter you want use the volume
and channel up & down buttons to highlight them, then
press OK, continue
until you get all the letters you want. Once you have finished then press
MENU,
press MENU again.
The new name for the channel will be displayed on the TV List .
2-Acquiring the Telstar 5 Satellite signal and Dish fine tuning for the StarCruiser DSR 101 Receiver:
Follow these steps after you have finished installing and aiming your dish to the Telstar 5 satellite . Connect the satellite receiver to the Dish and the TV. Please refer to the enclosed Digital Receiver Manual.
1-Press Menu, from the main menu select Search setup - Enter 0000 as your Password
2-select search satellite....select Telstar5 Satellite .if you don't see satellite Telstar 5 at no. 15 on the list..press Exit to go back to the main menu.
3-Select system setup ...go down to Factory default and select Yes to load the Factory default list.
4-Repeat step 1 & 2 above until you see Telstar 5 in the Satellite list (#15) ..press select ..you should see the name of the satellite at the lower left side screen
5-Press left arrow and select LNB setup ....select the Telstar 5 Satellite ...go to LNB Frequency and select 10750.....press Exit
6-Go to Select TP and choose Transponder 4 (TP 4) at freq. 11898 ....confirm the satellite name, the LNB frequency and the transponder no 4 TP 4) in the lower left side screen. Repeat step 6 to correct if necessary.
7-Press left arrow and select search mode = All ...go down to Start search and press select ....new screen with the signal strength meter will open up....use this meter to adjust and fine tune your dish. The signal level should be from Good to Excellent ...low readings or POOR levels will indicate that the dish has to be adjusted to get the signal and maximize it. you may repeat step 6 above but select a different Transponder like Transponder 10 (TP 10) at frequency 12090 or Transponder 13 (TP 13) at frequency 12152.
8-After maximizing the signal press exit go to select Tp and press it until the lower left screen show "All" transponders.
9-Press the left arrow and do a channel search again. This will load all the channels on all the Transponders
10-Press Exit 3 times until you see "Please wait for a moment"....you will be able to see all the FTA channels.
11-Please refer to the Manual to select and edit your favorite TV and Radio lists
Special Features of the Starcruiser DSR-101 Receiver:
1- Build in satellite locator tool to calculate the Azimuth and elevation at your USA location. Press Menu to get the main menu, ..select search setup ....enter the password 0000 ......select the azimuth calculator ......select your city and enter 97.00 degrees for the T 5 Satellite.
2-Two different favorite lists. While watching the regular programs you can compose your favorite list by pressing (F.Ch) to add to either list No1 or list No 2. You may also use the channel edit feature from the main menu.
3-Signal strength meter while watching any channel. While watching any program press (Info) and you will see the details about the channel plus a signal meter on the right lower corner with numeric value. The meter has 5 segments ( 20% each) plus a numeric value.
