Minnesota Free-Mo Modelers -- Valspar

Valspar is an eye-catching paint factory in Minneapolis. Today, the light rail line occupies the former Milwaukee Road right of way, a railroad which once served the plant. Its two sidings crossed at grade as they do here. The structure with the sign for Minnesota Linseed Oil Co. no long exists, but it had the curved wall you see here. The mural was designed by artist Peter Busa. The replica on this model is faithful, including careful matching of colors. The module includes a free-lanced, scenic, below main double-track light rail line. The grade crossing signals are activated by optical sensors in the track. Except for the free-lanced light rail line the module is dated ca. 1970.
