Minnesota Free-Mo
Modelers -- 7th St.
Prototype Modeling Information
Seventh Street was the end of the line for the Soo in St. Paul. The yard served the 500 foot Soo Freight House, the Soo St. Paul Terminal Warehouse, an interchange with the GN, and several other warehouses and industries. Loco facilities were at Jessamine, just north through the tunnel that once burrowed under the Westminster wye. This module is a close to exact full size replica of the 7th St. trackage as determined by aerial photos and other historical documents. The yard is flipped in the East West direction to fit better into a home basement setting. The module is under construction. It utilizes a pins and sleeves technique to join the sub modules. All tracks and turnouts are from Central Valley. Drawings and photos this page: R. Sterner |
