My Bass

I've been playing bass since the fifth grade.

My bass is a Carvin LB20 built in 1993. I bought it new from the factory. It has a twenty-four fret ebony fingerboard, Wilkinson bridge, SpertzleLocking tuners, a graphite nut, and twin special hum cancelling Carvinpickups. The body and neck are made from koa, a rare Hawaiian wood. Itis of a neck through body construction. The bass is amplified by a Hartke5000 model 250 watts per channel amplifier which feeds into a 4.5 XL Hartkecabinet. It usually goes direct without any signal processing, but thereis a Zoom 2020 and Morely volume wah pedal that occassionally shows upin the signal chain.  The above picture was taken when I was stillusing a Peavey TKO combo amp.

Here I am playing bass at my high school graduation:

I love my bass very much. I had been playing for several years beforeI finally got my hands on this. When I did, it was like Stanely Clarkesaid when he got his hands on an Amblic, "I could play anything in my head."Unfortunately I don't have the kind of lines in my head that Clarke, Hamm,Graham, or Rainey ( sorry about all the other greats of bass I left outthere just isn't enough space to put them all here ) have in theirs.

A sample of myplaying sorry about the 60 cycle hum in the back ground.
