"I'm not a vegetable I will not control myself I spit on the hand that feeds me I will not control myself" ~ Radiohead ~ alright, another marathon comes to a close for the moment... Friday, 3PM - 11:30PM (8.5 hours) Saturday, 7AM - Midnight (17 hours) Sunday, 3PM - 8:30AM (17.5 hours) Monday, 3PM - 8:00AM (17 hours) and I was scheduled for Tuesday evening as well, but I found a message on my voicemail (I had my cellphone ringer turned down, alas, so my bad... a place to live and phone line might help) after I woke up and showered and dressed and was all dressed for work that said they found someone else worked the shift so they would not have to pay overtime... wish they'd have figured that out before I left at 8AM so I could have slept through, but consideration is about the same as organization at the place (and both are relatively non-existent)... on the other hand, aside from my insatiable budget director, I'm happy to get some rest... another night shift was available too, but I was in the other room with the TV loud so I didn't hear the cell phone... if they didn't pull the last minute switch I would have had another 16 hours for the week... that would have been very nice for the savings... alas and all... should pay bills... anyway, worklife continues to be relatively chaotic as the system is primarily financially based (as opposed to being patient care based) and inappropriate placements make for unnecessary challenges for staff and kidsm not to mention extra paperwork and disruptions in service... fill the beds, tighten the screws, blame the staff for any problems, and the heck with the consequences... it's no wonder turnover at this place is much higher than average (and residential health care is a field where turnover is high to begin with... and then this area is way higher than the national average because of Disney kids transiency)... and in the end, the kids suffer... follow the rules... walk the line... kiss the hand that feeds, even if the hand mocks you for eating and slaps you for being... lick the boot before it's shoved up your ass... lubrication helps, they say... frustrated staff taking it out on frustrated kids... that's life... so that's worklife for the moment... thanks for being interested enough in me (or bored enough) to stop by and check out what's happening... if you want more (see me smile at the thought) the other journals await below J WORKLIFE INDEX MORE WORKLIFE LOOK OVER MY RESUME SEND JOB LEAD HELP THE SAME-TIME MENU BAR - FOR EACH GARDEN AROUND THIS SAME TIME NEW KIT WORKLIFE LIFETIME JOURNAL HEARTBEAT WANTS E-GROUPS GARDENS FRONT DOOR MAINGATE BACK DOOR WINDOW WHAT'S NEW WANT LIST WORKLIFE LIFETIMES KIT JOURNALS HEARTBEATS FAREWELL EMAIL
