WORKLIFE PAGES
...being some chronicles relating to what I do for money in this world...

"I recommend biting off more than you can chew to anyone
I certainly do
I recommend sticking your foot in your mouth at any time
feel free
throw it down (the caution blocks you from the wind)
hold it up (to the rays)
you wait and see when the smoke clears

you live you learn, you love you learn
you cry you learn, you lose you learn
you bleed you learn, you scream you learn"

~ Alanis Morissette ~

three strikes this week and I start all over again... the two high level positions have selected other candidates with more qualitifactions (the deciding factor was current experience, alas) and the staffing job went to someone else (who did not put them on hold like I did)... there's still a chance I might get some part time on-call work from the staffing place...

on the other hand, one of the state jobs I sent resumes in for last month finally started calling for interviews (next Thursday, eight days from now)... this one is intake interviews for the corrections department... the pluses are health care benefits right from the start, security after six months probation, annual cost of living and incentive increases, and the cushion of a low level office job (minimal responsibility, minimal juggling)... the minuses are boooooring, a drive to work (it's on the other side of the airport and traffic getting to and from the place will probably be painful, low end of my acceptible pay scale, and slow advancement...

it's not the kind of job that can grow and suddenly become a great opportunity like some business or other jobs might... then again, it would be a stable income... wish the interview was this week...

the search continues...

IT'S THE GREAT JOB FOR THE NEW MILLENIUM HUNT!
