A Journal of Sorts

"what would you think if I sang out of tune
would you stand up and walk out on me
lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song
and I'll try not to sing out of key
I get by with a little help from my friends
I get high with a little help from my friends
going to try with a little help from my friends"

long day... and little sleep the past few nights, just an hour and a half last night... and today was moving day... everything sorta packed up yesterday was carried down the stairs and loaded up in the truck Aim rented for me (sweet... she sees what's needed and does it cuz she can... I seem to have another friend like me... child says wow)... for whatever reason (lessons come in all sorts of indirect ways), there was an overturned truck blocking the highway entrance ramp (so the direct path I needed to take was blocked, yeah?)... I figured out another route to the next exit... I left the phone and a couple of things at Fagans and I'll go back to finish cleaning when I get my car back (hopefully tomorrow)... then I unloaded and put everything into the elevator and discovered that the elevator didn't work... so everything was carried up the stairs (pant, pant)... the universe is helping me drop the weight and wake up this body, huh? J

speaking of weight, I am 180.5 on Aim's scale... that's close to the goal (I decided about two weeks ago that I'd drop 15 pounds before the new year... the goal was 180) and I've been pigging out the past few days... it's good to see tangible evidence that I am still in touch with this body enough and have enough will power to do this...

anyway, back to moving day again... so everything was stuffed into the small room (must climb over boxes to get to the couch for the moment) and Aim cooked a traditional Southern New Years Day meal (I forget the name of it at the moment, but it was good... ham and onions and black-eyed peas and rice and spinach and cornbread... it's supposed to be good luck... found money in the cornbread, which s more good luck and prosperity... traditions are weird everywhere (I've forgotten all the different ones I watched over the years), but they can be fun (everything's more fun when shared J

we watched And Bumblebees Fly Anyway with Jeanine Garofalo and Elija Wood and Rachel Leigh Cook, all three actors I like... interesting film...

so here I am, new place... cramped, but Aim is being a true friend and I can feel more comfortable in the rest of the apartment so it's much (much) better... tomorrow, since Aim decided to drive herself down south, I'll call the phone companies and hopefully get the car and then the job search continues again... at least that's the plan (like I plan) J

Happy New Year (at least by one calendar) J
