entry in progress more to follow later and the race in the third fantasy baseball league continues to change with Hitters (the team that has been in first all year) rebounding to move up a couple of positions to 95.5 points, while Wanderers (my team) moved up only half a point (batting average) to 93.5... it'll take some hot hitting from my team to raise the batting average a couple of points... Wanderers is first in all pitching categories except Wins and I'm hoping to hang on to third in Wins (I currently have a 7 win lead)... there's little I can do in pitching as I have few innings left so I am focused on relievers to keep the lead in the other four pitching categories, which should happen)... so points must be sought in the hitting categories... and there, the best chance of movement is in batting average... my team batting average is .277 and there are two teams within reach, one tied at .277 and one at .278 which would bring 1.5 points... not enough, but the best chance for points... moving a point or two in batting average this late in the season is challenging (know your statistics?)... the only other feasible chance for movement is Runs where Wanderers is ten runs back of the next team... it's a long shot, but that's 2.5 points... with just a 3 point lead in stolen bases and a 5 point lead in home runs and a 19 point lead in RBIs, I must keep pressure on in those categories as well... on the other hand, if other teams can snatch back a couple of points from Hitters and keep them at 93 points again... it ain't over J meanwhile, in the other two fantasy baseball leagues... I continue running away in the second league, 100-81... and in the first league I remain in third place with 63 points, 7.5 points ahead of the fourth place team... and the first two teams remain at 68 and 67.5... J |
