The Syracuse PD Blue Home Page - John Briggs

Welcome to my RCMBA homepage. This team reflects three areas of my life... The name of the team is because I'm a retired Syracuse NY Police Sergeant. Those twenty plus years were exciting, equally rewarding and the best years of my life... My coaching staff is a result of being a  NY Yankee fan. When I was about 10 I discovered baseball cards, the Yankees and Mickey Mantle. The love of baseball cards and Yankees still holds true today and now I follow my favorite Yankees, Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter. I spent many summers as a teen in NE Pennsylvania which brought a lesser yet faithful following of the Phillies... Music is very important to me. My favorite group is the greatest band ever put together, Pink Floyd. If you've ever listened to the entire "Dark Side of the Moon", you understand. I also enjoy Santana and Dave Matthews.

Our GM is the Hall of Famer, Jim "Catfish" Hunter. A man with incredible talent, class and a strong desire to win but still humble enough to appreciate the simple things in life. Our manager is NYPD Blue Detective Sgt Andy Sipowicz. "How you doin?" Andy is a tough cop who knows how to take charge. He brings out the best in those around him and gets the job done by whatever means is necessary. He's someone you would want on your side. Our bench coach is Paul O'Neill. He can very simply be described as a real baseball player. He never gave away one at bat and played every moment at 100%, regardless of the score or competition. The rest of my baseball staff consists of players who are required to have been with both the Yankees and Phillies.

In the front office I've selected people that are my personal favorites. The one and only "King of the World", Muhammad Ali is in charge of media relations. Our stadium security is in the hands of the ultimate showman, Hollywood Hulk Hogan. Our trainer is the sensational softball pitcher Jennie Finch. In the broadcast booth we have Michael Kay, Ken Singleton, Al Leiter and on the Spanish side, "El Tiante" Luis Tiant. For the kids, our mascot is Foghorn Leghorn. Our AAA team, the Pink Floyd Crazy Diamonds feature the Pink Floyd band members along with Carlos Santana and Dave Matthews.
