Below is the Mt. Bethel Baptist Meeting House. It was erected in Washington Valley in the mid-1700s and moved to its present site atop the Watchung Ridge in the 1790s.

The King George Inn, below, is across the street from the Mt. Bethel Meeting House. It was used as a tavern and stage coach stop in the nineteenth century. Both buildings were used for public meetings in early days; later the Central School was used before the acquisition of the present municipal building.

In the 1930's Warren opened the Central School, consolidating its one-room schools. Although most of the former school buildings remain, only the Round Top (sometimes known as Mt. Horeb) School remains unchanged in appearance. It is now on private property.
