William Martin Boyce of Warren, New Jersey, is a descendant of James Boyce (c. 1740-1803) of Charlotte, North Carolina, near Sardis. One of his grandsons, also named James, was a famous preacher in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church; he wrote an autobiography that is the source of a great deal of information about the early history of this Boyce family. Another of his grandsons, pictured below, was William Boyce who owned Springhill Farm, a large plantation near Pineville, North Carolina, that was just across the state boundary in South Carolina. William was married four times and had several children. He was the 2 G grandfather of William Martin Boyce.
1812-1870
We have a lot of his descendancy on Reunion for Macintosh, based mainly on the compilations done by Moffatt Grier Boyce, Mrs. Edward Gilmore Boyce, and William Walkup Boyce, Jr., and intend to post it on this page as soon as we learn how! The picture was contributed by Boyce H. Rhyne, one of William Boyce's great-grandsons.
