As one of my community service efforts,
I have collected Granny's Daughter motifs from
generous crocheters to make into afghans for
Project Linus.
Project Linus distributes handmade security blankets to seriously
ill and traumatized children to comfort them.
I no longer accept motifs.
I still have quite a few motifs waiting to be used in an
afghan and plan to
continue making afghans until I have used all of the
motifs.
|
Making these motifs is a wonderful way to use up bits of acrylic
worsted weight yarn left from other projects.
If you have bits of yarn you would like to use,
Paula's Knit and
Crochet Charity welcomes Granny's Daughter motifs.
Circles of Hope
uses Granny's Daughter motifs to make items for a number of charities.
They have
assembly instructions
you can use instead of the commercial pattern.
Pattern Source:
This pattern was originally published in
Leisure Arts Leaflet 2159, Scrap Yarn Afghans, Book Two.
The Granny's Daughter afghan is on the front cover.
Nancy Fuller is the pattern designer.
It has been republished in
Leisure Arts Leaflet 75021, Granny's Delight Afghans.
In this "Little Book", it is called "Colorful Granny" and it is
pattern #4.
Another design using the same motifs is the Yo-Yos afghan
shown on the cover of Leisure Arts Leaflet 2946, Old-Timey Scrap
Afghans. Also designed by Nancy Fuller,
this afghan uses more motifs and less crochet in the joining
compared to the Granny's Daughter afghan.
This pattern has been republished in
Leisure Arts Leaflet 75028, Scrap Wraps.
In this "Little Book", it is called "Yo-Yo Fantasy" and it is
pattern #5.
Please visit the
Leisure Arts website
for help in locating these pattern booklets.
