Operation Tibus - June 2, 2001
From Cincinnati to Kansas City
This was not officially an STS Mission, as the STS was not formed until the next week,
but I did the final organizing and many of those involved are members of the the STS.

Tibus(GA) went to the Bridge Saturday, June 16, 2001 at 9: 59 pm :-(
Tibus(GA) was discovered to have several health problems after arriving at his new home in Kansas City.  His new mom, Melisa, and the vets discovered a damaged heart valve which was to lead to very severe problems which resulted in departure for the Bridge.

Tibus(GA), or Mr. Tibs as his new mom called him, will be missed greatly by her
and those of us who met him during his trip to his new home mourn for the
extraordinary feline gentleman we met that day.

To honor him, he has been appointed the official Mascot of the STS

His Chariot awaits.
The carrier was so that
Mary could find me

He ducked under a rear
seat in Mary's Van

He did not want to come
out

You can't see it but,
he was sort of wrapped
around a rod under the
seat

Still under the Seat

I got him out and he posed
with Mary

A Profile

Looking towards Home?

Well, Maybe it's that
way

Got enough yet?

In our van

So, this is a Pontiac
Montana, nice.

Looks good back there
too.

In the carrier on the
road

Hey you woke me up

Ok, take the pics

so I can go to
sleep

Getting some ZZZ's

He slept all the way
The shots of him in the carrier were taken while we were on the road. I set the focus to 2 1/2 feet and would reach down and aim the camera at him. The first few times the camera strap banged against something and he woke up. Then I took the strap off and finally caught him asleep.
He slept nearly all the way from Terre Haute, IN to St. Louis, MO
