T-28Chokin copy.JPG (32990 bytes)Popy/Bandai Chokinzoku/Godaikin T-28  (4.75*)

Well, what can I say about this big guy except that it totally dwarfed the DX T-28. (which is about the size of a SOC Great Mazinger!)  Impressive? Of course!   Expensive? You betcha!  I think the photos will do the toy justice.  If you look at it carefully, the interior of the robot includes a working elevator in the right leg, a rotating station in the left leg.  Pilot is sitting in the waist area and and the two red missiles can be launched from the chest,  just like the DX T-28.   All the little figures have magnetic feet, so you can stick them anywhere around the metallic armors of the T-28.  You can even stick a Cyborg 009 at a gravity defying position.

T-28 Chokin2 copy.JPG (29944 bytes)This ends my brief introduction of the toy itself.  I thought it would be more interesting to talk a little about Tetsujin 28's history,  According to the story, Tetsujin 28 originally was created by the Japanese Army during Word War II as a top secret military weapon.  However, before the completion of the robot, Tetsujin's secret base, located in a South Pacific island,  was bombarded by US bombers and fighters and Tetsujin was lost into the Pacific Ocean.  Tetsujin was recovered and repaired by Dr. Kaneda and Shikishima ten years after the end of WWII.   They redesigned what would be a most  formidable military weapon into a guardian of good and justice.  Of course everything is fictional, but you can clearly see that T-28's origin as a weapon of mass destruction is in T-28Chokin3_copy.JPG (14528 bytes)complete contrast to Atom, which was built with the intention to benefit mankind.
