Yes, I know, I am still missing Getta 3, but hopefully I will be able to add it into my collection in the near future. Getter Robot is my third or fourth favorite super robot show, and I am sure it is also ranked atop of many collectors' list. The show originally aired in Japan in the early 70s in direct competition with Go Nagai's other creation: Mazinger Z and especially Great Mazinger. (It's kind interesting that two of Go Nagai's creations competed against each other for air time, but this also demonstrates how influential Go Nagai was at that time and how the various TV stations respected his works.) Getta Robot G was shown in USA as Starvengers in the early 80s as part of the Force Five series imported by Jim Terry. The story line was slightly altered as expected but at least most of the plot in the battle against Pandamonium Empire was relatively true to the original; unlike Snady Frank's adaptation of Gatchaman. I always love the Getta ships and I remember I used to own a Dragun ship model as a
child and it was one of my priced possession. That model is no where to be found
today, but I still like the Getta ships just the same. Many of you probably have
already seen the photos of Half Eye's fully transformable Getta Robot. It looks O.K.
in Getta 1 and Getta 2, but Getta 3 is really a stretch.
