Who is Steve Traylen?
I currently reside in Denver, Colorado
and I work for Western
Geco. However originally I am from
Wimborne
Minster in Dorset, England. My travels
in my nearly 30 years have taken me from home to Canford
School. I then did my undergrad degree
at Bristol
University gaining an honours degree
in geology. My Masters degree in geophysics was done at University
of Wisconsin - Madison.
I am not the Steve Traylen, who appears to be a sys admin in the UK.
I'm a much more handsome bloke! My Hobbies.
The main thing I am involved in
is Doctor Who fandom. The absolute best place for Doctor Who resources
is Shaun Lyon’s Outpost
Gallifrey page. He also runs the excellent
Gallifrey one convention in Los Angeles every February.
Also living in Colorado, we like
to get out into the mountains and hike and see the scenery. We have a pretty
big house and garden which takes up more of our time than it should. I
also spend a fair amount of time online, chatting to friends. I also read
a lot.
My Favourite authors include, Stephen
Baxter, Terry Goodkind, Tad Williams, Harry Turtledove, Steven
Erikson. (It is an utter crime that
Erikson's fantasys haven't got a US publisher yet. They are the best thing
to hit the genre in years. Order them from the UK
today!)
Being a Brit abroad means I miss a lot of
that truly British conversation. I'm always interested in hearing from
ex-pat Brits. Especially those in my age group, late twenties, early thirties.
I'm definitely keen to relive those "down the pub conversations about kids TV". So if
you are interested in discussing "Mary, Mungo & Midge" or "Jamie and the Magic Torch"
drop me a line!
My Friends.
A lot of my best friends are people
I’ve met online and have then gone on to become close personal friends.
Being the lazy bastard that I am, rather than linking in to a lot of their

Being in the US means I have to
get my UK based info from somewhere. The BBC
is the far and away the best place to get this info.
The greatest football club in the
world is of course, AFC
Bournemouth.
I enjoy Geocaching.
I am horribly addicted to the Championship
Manager series of games.
One of my favourite reading genres
is Alternate
History.
