Medical Items are classified according to function or commodity . The First digit of the item indicates the Class to which the item pertains . Classes and subclasses are as follows:

NOTE:: it is primarily Class 9 which is most interesting to us, since it contains the majority of Medical Items used in the field by medical personnel throughout WW2 .
