Begin Again
by Miranda Hawkins

This was written in my creative writing class about 2 years ago. It's two different voices talking, but not to each other; it's seperate. So, you can read this a couple of different ways, line by line or one voice and then the other. It really works both ways, I think.

"They've failed me again. What shall I do?"
"He's failed us again. What shall we do?"

"They no longer pray to me. Have they forgotten I exist?"
"He no longer hears our prayers. Has He forgotten we exist?"

"It's worse than it's ever been; they can't survive!"
"Times have been worse; we must struggle to survive!"

"Perhaps it's time to begin again."
"If only we could begin again."

"Yes, it's time."
"But we haven't the time."

"If I wait they will destroy themselves."
"We have destroyed ourselves!"

"But they have forsaken me!"
"And He has forsaken us!"

"Thus I justify beginning again."
"Because we don't understand the concept of justice."
