Text Box: PRAYER CORNER

One of the many wonderful things about receiving Jesus and being filled with the Holy Spirit is that, along with every other blessing, we gain stability and sound-mindedness that cannot be acquired any other way.  That’s because we are given the mind of Christ.

Let us offer prayers for…
The friends and family of Eric Ramsey who passed away on January 12th ,
Those staff members who are leaving us, may they take the spirit of God with them…

Text Box: St. Anthony School to celebrate catholic schools week with series of events

St. Anthony School on Charleston’s West Side will celebrate Catholic Schools Week January 30 through February 3, 2006 with a series of events designed to celebrate its accomplishments and demonstrate the quality of education it provides.
St.  Anthony School serves families from Kanawha, Putnam, Clay, Lincoln, Boone, and Jackson Counties.  Those families come from a wide range of religious, ethnic, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.  The school prides itself on the strong faith, discipline, and high academic standards set by its staff and its students.
Each year, the school’s students consistently perform well above average on standardized achievement tests at the National, State and Local levels.  One hundred percent of school families benefit from financial support from diocesan, parish, and community resources.
The school’s celebration of Catholic Schools Week begins with opening ceremonies, a prayer service, and reception at 1:30 p.m. at Charleston Catholic School.  St. Anthony School will host a dinner and talent show that evening at 6 p.m.
On January 31, 2006, the school will hold an open house in its gymnasium.  Featured at the event will be an overview of the school’s mission, an introduction to the school’s Home and School Community organization, and an overview of the school’s major fundraising activities.
Parents will have the opportunity to tour the school building and meet the teachers in  classroom settings.  The school will showcase student work and give an overview of class curriculum and standards.  Information packets will also be available.
February 2 events include a prayer service in the gymnasium at 8 a.m. and bingo at 7:00 p.m..
On February 3, the St. Anthony Saints will play DuPont Middle School in a basketball game at 1:30 p.m.  All students, including those not attending St. Anthony, will be admitted to the game free.

PLEASE INVITE ANY NEW OR PROSPECTIVE PARENTS!!!
