This month's feature are two "Ross Ware" salt and pepper shakers. Ross Ware shakers were made by Stangl in the early 1940s. Common designs include a "mexican with sombrero", a "little girl", an "angel", an "oil lamp", and a "golf ball with tee". These shakers are unique in the fact that both shakers were made to fit together to form one decorative figurine. For instance for the blonde girl; the head is removable and is used as the salt shaker whereas her remaining shoulders and neck are used as the pepper shaker. |
