During a recent SSP Consulting contract an International Aerospace company needed to improve the manufacturing quality and efficiency of a jet engine component.  During a six month contract an SSP engineer identified numerous manufacturing and equipment problems and directed the correction process.  Lead times were reduced at both machining and welding operations by customizing a Statistical Process Control plan.  This allowed the identification of recurring problem areas and implementation of solutions to those problems.  Overall quality was improved dramatically while rework efforts were substantially reduced resulting in direct cost savings.  The customer of SSP Consulting Services client noted that the welding was better than they had ever produced themselves.
