Let a spreadsheet design your circuitry
If you are planning to use a photodiode for light sensing, you will probably need to connect it to a transimpedance amplifier to convert the photodiode's current into a voltage. Transimpedance amplifiers can easily become oscillators if the designer is unaware of conditions that must be met for stability.
