Shell Rock Short Line
The original Shell Rock Short Line was completed in 1981 by Bob Drenth in Nora Springs, IA. The mainline is 1450 feet long and there are over 500 feet of track in terminals and industries with more construction planned in 2002. A four track storage building provides storage for an 0-4-0 steam locomotive, and SW-1 cow and calf, an operating snow plow, one passenger car, and eight freight cars. Four of the freight cars are used in hobo service.
