The current "studio" models
are roughly 2 feet long by 1 foot high and wide. They

Silicone rubber molds are painted before models are casted with polyurethane and/or polyester resin with fiberglass reinforcement. This is how the first 'Studio' models were created.
A simple yet effective base supports
the mold on balanced pins and the mold is rotated
while the composite hardens.Concrete models have been casted. They seem to work well. However, concrete takes longer to cast (days rather than minutes), they take more time to prepare and paint, and they weigh about 70 lbs. which is a little hard on my back, and would be very expensive shipping...
January 2006: Factory output has been increased to nearly 40 units per day. The first container load of BigFISH is scheduled to arrive at the 'Port of Kansas City' before the 'Ides of March'. Now that the molds are ready, additional containers can be scheduled for delivery to any destination in a matter of weeks. Incredible as it sounds, you can purchase these new mass produced models on sale now for a lower price than my cost for just the materials to make the first models.
March 2007: We are looking for US manufacturer to blow mold or otherwise manufacture low cost models. We are also close to licensing agreement for concrete molds. Please contact me if you are interested in either possibility...

The need is clear... Everywhere you can find old black pipes and other substandard materials extending from down spouts...

Homeowners and water or fish related businesses in areas where the rain falls would be the primary markets for Splishy Splashblocks. Garden shops, hardware stores, and mass marketeers with lawn and garden centers would be good for retail distribution. We have also had several requests from gutter and down spout installers who are looking for something extra special that they can offer their customers.
We have had a growing market with our concrete models at statuary yards. Customers take them home and quite often send their friends and neighbors back for more. This is a fun product that people purchase because they want them, not necessarily because they 'have to have' them.
They have to be light enough that the average shopper can easily lift them into their shopping cart without breaking their backs, yet not so light or flimsy that they blow away in the wind, or so fragile that they break on the way to the store...
