FORWARD

This book, Spirit of The Word, is a compilation of periodicals published by the late Arthur P. Adams and were written between January and December, 1885.

The Beverly Historical Society states that Rev. A. P. Adams was first registered in Beverly, Massachusetts, in 1882. Adams was again registered in 1897, and he is described at that time as a "clergyman and publisher" of "Spirit of The Word." He apparently did not pastor a church since his name did not appear in the extensive church directory of Beverly, Massachusetts.

In 1906 Rev. Adams published a second publication entitled "Bethaba," and unfortunately we are unable to locate copies of that publication. The last recorded information on Adams states that in 1909 he and his wife Ophilia were recorded as "removed to Poughkeepsie, New York."(1)

The writings of  Rev. Adams and other "enlightened authors" are being rescued from "archive imprisonment." This book and other books of spiritually lead authors have been reproduced by electronic process through the Internet and are available for printing or computer down-loading.
