Dr. James
Ann Crock writes (Nov.
16, 2003) -- I
am so awfully sad to announce that Lee (Venzke) Crock died Oct. 31st after going downhill from cancer and diabetes as of Feb.
He was in no pain and died in Hospice with loving arms and kisses from his family. He was
simply worn out from meeting the struggle. What an amazing high school time you all had.
--Sadly, Ann
Bob Warder died Oct. 31, 2003, at his home in Englewood.
Earl Reum writes (June
25) -- Thanks for the reminder....Lots of solid quality memories...Off to North Carolina
for a conference I've spoken to every year since 1960 --- They keep hoping that I will say
something valuable -- or at least something they can understand..

Gordon Maddux had laser eye surgery and is
delighted with the result. Says Gordo, "Ever since I was in elementary school, I've
worn glasses or contacts. It's great to be able to see without 'em."
Bob James now
spends two days a week at a local hospital in Bonita Springs, Florida, making bed-side
visits as a "Padre." "I wear the turned-around collar and chat with
the patients and any family in each room. I ask about the patient's illness and pray with
those who wish it," Bob says.
Dick Banks heads up the Bicycle Ministry at First
United Methodist Church in Tulsa, which has 'adopted' Eugene Field Elementary School. Dick
takes donated bikes and fixes them up for distribution to those who need transportation.

Email from Glen & Eloise Leyden: "The Fortune Brunch was delightful both in the quality of food and
quality of guests. It was just a great time with alot of fun conversation and
companionship. The guest list included Don and Barbara Miller, Lee and Ann Crock, Bob and
Florence VanBebber, Jack and Marilyn Phillips, Sally and Ed Kenz. Don and DeAnn Fortune
were so gracious and their redecorated home was just beautiful. There is no good time like
a good time with long time friends."
Email from BOB BROCKISH: "I
saw Red Wyman (49) at a Rocky Mountain !st MarDiv Assn dinner. He recently had a
heart attack as he was preparing to march with the group in Denver's St Pat's Day parade.
He is on the mend now, not back to normal yet, but he's working on it."
Email from BOB LAWSON: "While you were playing away your day,
I went to college Station Tex., and had lunch with George Bush, and Brent Scowcroft.
Scowcroft gave a lecture on world affairs at the Bush library, with George introducing
him. Afterwards they had a lunch reception where we could mingle, and shake hands, ask
questions etc. Was really quite an experience talking to the ex president in a small
group. He's a very nice, congenial man, and Brent scowcroft is a facinating speaker, all
in all an interesting day."
GLEN LEYDEN
emailed: "Sally St.John Kenz suffered a heart attack
while skiing ar Winter Park. She was airlifted to St.Joseph Hospital where she had a
second heart attack. She had quadruple bypass surgery on March 13th (2000) and is on the
road to recovery."
