- Here is the official site for The Grass Roots. It is owned by Rob Grill. Besides a ton of excellent, comprehensive info and photos on this expertly-designed site, this is also the contact place for booking and other official Grass Roots business. As noted on our home page, our site is not authorized by or directly associated with the group. We here at Golden Grass are strictly a fan page. Some information here will differ with the official site. The official site must by default also be considered the official line, since it is, after all, their own site, and sources of information are largely inside and offically approved. However, the bulk of the information at Golden Grass is also first-hand, obtained directly from members of the original (1966-1975) group and those surrounding them, such as their writers, producers and label executives. Other information was obtained from music industry journals, primarily Billboard magazine. Fans of the Grass Roots will benefit immensely from both sites. As Rob Grill told us, "There's been about a jillion stories about what went down." So we suggest you enjoy them all and make up your own mind!
