
So Rare! Collectibles Die-Cast Collection Database is a Microsoft Access 2000 (you probably have Microsoft Access on your computer as part of Microsoft Office 2000) program that offers great flexibility and is provided free to collectors that want a complete and easy method of maintaining and accessing information about their collection. In addition to the standard collection parameters you may input as many pictures as you desire for each die-cast model. You can print complete collection reports and lists of die-cast models with profit/loss and collection pictures.
No installation is necessary. Run DiecastCollection.exe to uncompress files to My Documents. Start DiecastCollection by clicking on the Windows 95/98/2000/XP Start button and on "Open Office Documents" in the Start menu. Double click on DiecastCollection. Microsoft Access will open with the DiecastCollection menu displayed.
Alternatively, you can run Microsoft Access and open DiecastCollection.mdb.
For convenience place a shortcut on your desktop by opening Windows Explorer, right click on DiecastCollection.mdb and drag to desktop. Click on "Create Shortcut(s) Here". The default desktop icon is the Microsoft Access icon. To use sorare.ico right click on the desktop icon and "Properties" in the descending menu. Click on the Shortcut Tab. Click on the Change Icon button. Browse to find sorare.ico, e.g., C:\My Documents\sorare.ico. Click OK.

You can enter data for each field as shown in the above picture of the data entry screen of So Rare! Collectibles Die-Cast Collection Database. This data includes each die-cast model in your collection, the color, type (sedan, roadster, truck, etc.), manufacturer or brand, identifier or part number,model, production run, model year, condition (standard grades or any scheme you want to describe the condition of your die-cast model), production year, retirement date, sell price, market price, the price you paid, original price, the date you acquired the die-cast model, sell date, any description, comments or notes you want to add, pictures (you can include as many pictures as you like for each die-cast model).

You can display and/or print your collection data in a variety of forms and content. Most reports can be filtered to display just the die-cast models that you want, e.g., filter by "Ford" to display only models of Ford products. You can also sort or order the reports by many parameters such as acquisition date in ascending or descending order. You can also make a list of your die-cast models with profit/loss for each model as well as totals. Reports can also be displayed and/or printed with pictures.
