The Message Board/Forum enables visitors to So Rare! Collectibles to communicate with other visitors by reading messages posted by others and instantly posting your own message.

Click on Enter the Message Board/Forum to immediately post your comments, thoughts, etc.

A small window opens in the center of the screen:

Forum Entry

A "Forum Name" box will display the current topics, including "General Board". If you have not visted the forum in the past you will be browsing as a guest. Click on "General Board" to read the positings and/or add your own posting.

Forum Message

To see the complete messages click on message title, e.g., "Welcome to the So Rare! Collectibles Forum", or any other Tread/Discussion that may be present. You can start a new thread or discussion by clicking on "New Thread".

Post Messages

Enter the subject of your new thread or discussion in the subject box. Enter your message in the message box. This is all that is necessary to post your message. As you gain experience you may modify your posts with smilies, tags, etc. Once you get accustomed to using the board it is fairly straight forward.

You can register as a new member so that when you return to the forum your name will be remembered and no one else can use the same name to post messages. Just enter your name or nickname and a password to register.

Add Messages to Existing Board

To post a message to an existing board, e.g., General Board, you just enter your message in the "Message" box under "Quick Reply".

 

Abbreviations
Many times chatters will use abbreviations. Brackets < > or asterisks * * are often used to indicate actions or facial expressions. E.g., <snicker> or *snicker*. Some of the commonly used abbreviations:
<s> -- smile
<bs> -- big smile
<s> -- smile
<g> -- grin
brb -- be right back
cy -- see you
irl -- in real life
lol -- laugh out loud
wb -- welcome back
ty -- thank you
btw -- by the way
btdt -- been there done that
imho -- in my honest opinion
ggp -- gotta go pee
fas -- for a second
^5 -- high five
atm -- at the moment
fyi -- for your info
 
Emoticons
Another form of expression in chat rooms is the use of emoticons. Some of the commonly used emoticons:
