About the Author

Currently, I serve as Lead Teacher for the Social Studies Department at Denbigh High School (Newport News Public Schools) in Newport News, Va.

I fell in love with the study of sociology while in high school.  I continued my studies at Duke University, and majored in Sociology.  I have taught the subject whenever possible during my 20 year teaching career.

About the Site

Sociology Classroomis designed to be a research tool for high school students, and an instructional tool for teachers.

This site mainly provides links of interest to those who study and teach Sociology at the secondary level.  However, I have also provided research links that all students can use for classwork, homework, and study.  As time permits, I will be adding more resources, lesson plans, and information.

For information about resources used in creating this site, see Acknowledgments.
