The Jacobi/Olson Certificate This midwestern couple describes themselves as folksy and natural. They particulaly
liked the folk-art on their wedding invitation enough to see carried over to the certificate which would hang in their home for many years to come. The tree with berries had great sentimental
meaning and they wanted it featured prominently in the certificate. When I formatted the vows they had written, I saw that the text formed two circles. This led to the idea
of creating four little islands separated by a pond. The couple embraced this departure from the original idea, and the final certificate was conceived. Another unique
innovation, which expressed the playful, folksy theme was placing images of animals throughout the signature lines where the guests would sign. The signing would require some special
monitoring of the guests to ensure that the signatures were placed properly. You might notice that I used the duck from Eric and Dinah's certificate as my email button! |

Eric and Dinah’s Unforgettable Day
Our wedding day was wonderful and memorable. We were married outside in the country on an Iowa summer 90+ degree day last June. Not a cloud in the sky. After
the ceremony we had dinner under a big shady tent right at the site of the ceremony. We got many, many comments on [our certificate] from guests. No one had seen anything like it.
After dinner we all went down the road to an old schoolhouse for a dance with a local norwegian folk band. Also coming down the road were the clouds. Our 1st
dance was in near 100% humidity. Suddenly a local Dept of Natural Resources guy came and announced a tornado warning and told us all to come to his shelter. We ran down a gravel drive in the now poring
rain to an above ground metal machine shed. We stayed there for well over an hour waiting for the all clear. Some wonderful guests calmed frightened children by starting a chorus of "You are my
sunshine".... and other happy tunes. I was the only one with dry hair due to the huge amount of hairspray. After returning to the schoolhouse we had
cake and danced a few dances. Eric and I left for our honeymoon and soon afterward there was a flash flood of the creek next to the schoolhouse. Our guests left as fast as they could as the creek rose to
overtake the grass parking lot. As Eric and I drove to our hotel there was an unbelievable lightening storm visible for 360 degrees. To top it off a huge tree went down that night in the front yard of our
house. What a day. We'll certainly never forget it!!!
