The Bonney Ring Certificate This couple planned to be married outside between two large trees and wanted the trees to frame their certificate.
They sent a photograph of the trees so that the artwork could be similar. The groom wrote a poem which they wanted inscribed on the certificate. The words beginning every other line had special
signficance: silence, light, darkness, trust... so these words were calligraphed in green ink. Otherwise, the certificate reflects the Quaker values of simplicity and harmony with nature.
