Paper Colors:
  The papers I use are a faux parchment.  They come in a number of colors. Like all dyed materials, colored papers can fade when exposed to light, but framed under glass, mounted on acid-free backing, they should last for your lifetime before fading or yellowing.

   Arhival quality, acid-free paper is available in whites and creams only, with deckle edges at no extra charge. The choice is yours. E-mail me for an up-to-date jpeg of available samples.

    Colored inks also fade, but I spray my artwork with a fixative that resists fading.
   

Choose your Typestyle:
  I used two basic styles, Chancery and Unicial. I often combine the two, using Unicial for the large names and chancery for the body of the certificate. Chancery can be very simple, or flowing and intertwining.  It is your preference to decide what kind of look you prefer.  I do a modified Chancery which I call “Art Nouveau”, and it is more free-form, with longer, straighter tails.
