FID PICS

FID = Feathered and Furrry Kids

Since both Cary's & my children have flown the nest so to speak, we have had alot of fun taking care of the "Fids"........

So here are a few pictures of them to share with you....

The Alpha Bird in the house is my African Grey Congo, Sequoia. She has been with me since she was 5 weeks old. She will be 6 in July. she goes to school with me everyday. I wrote an article for Bird Talk in 1995 about taking birds to school. She was practically raised in the classroom. To this day, she adores children.

This is Java, our young Blue & Gold Macaw. She came to us very well socialized by her breeder. She loves to help.......

The next bird is Nadia, one of my first rescue birds. She was physically and emotionally abused in a pet store. I am about the only one that she will tolerate. She is a White Capped Pionus.

Sydnee the Rainbow lorikeet was another sort of rescue from a pet store. She is doing better than she was at first. She was scared and terrified of everything. Now she comes over to me and does her lory antics, and is even talking some . She will throw me kisses. I don't know how old she is, but we are estimating about 3 or so. Her buddy is Sammy, our yellow collar macaw.

Waldo the Unbrella Cockatoo was referred to us by our friend as she had talked to the owners who were hoping to sell him. He was in a laundry room as they just didn't have time for him anymore. He has become such a lovesponge and VelcroBird.....One of his favorite things to do is sing off key. He loves his daddy........
