Dear Mr. President,
This letter is to ask what actions are being
taken to determine
the fate of Sgt. Curtis Richard Smoot
Rank/Branch: E5/US Army
Unit: Troop A, 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry,
1st Cavalry Division
Date of Birth: 09 December 1949 (Bogaloosa
LA)
Home City of Record: Varnado LA
Date of Loss: 10 March 1971

There are nearly 2500 Americans who remain
missing. Many are alive and waiting for the country they proudly served
to bring them home. As long as one American
is alive in captivity in the jungles of Southeast
Asia, the war is not over -our flag is still there! Richard Curtis Smoot
is an American soldier who has remained on the POW/MIA list for the
past 27 years. Does not his devotion to his country grant him the
honor and privilege of being rescued or buried in his own homeland soil?
Will you advise us, please, of actions you
or any other appointed or are taking to
determine the fate of Sgt. Curtis Smoot and
the rest of our 2500 American soldiers
unaccounted for? Will you please explain the
reasons why little or nothing is being done?
