With so many recipes available on the internet, everyone  should be able to put on a holiday spread.  In my family we always have the old  traditional dishes, but we also like to try something new each season.  These are just a  few  you may want to try..
 
Irish Potato Christmas Candy
Yield: 16 servings
 1 tb Mashed potatoes
2 1/4 c  Confectioners' sugar
1    12 oz jar peanut butter

Placed mashed potatoes in a mixer bowl. Add confectioners' sugar one cup at a time, beat
well after each addition. Spread
into greased 10x15 inch pan.

Christmas Coleslaw

       2 c  Green cabbage, shredded
       2 c  Red cabbage, shredded
       1 ea Green pepper, grated
       1 ea Red pepper, grated
       1 ea Onion, red, grated
       1 c  Mayonnaise
     1/2 c  Oil & vinegar dressing
       2 ea Carrots, grated

   Toss vegetables in a glass bowl. Combine mayonnaise and dressing and
pour over and toss gently. Cover & chill overnight.

Southern Sweet Potato Ring
   8 medium sweet potatoes or 1 large can
   9 Tbsp. butter, softened
   1/2 cup light brown sugar
   1 5-ounce can evaporated milk
   1 tsp. nutmeg
   1 tsp. cinnamon
   1 tsp. vanilla
   1 egg
   1/2 cup dark brown sugar
   1-1/2 cups pecan halves

Bake sweet potatoes, remove peeling.  In a large bowl, mash potatoes with a fork or
food processor.  Add butter, light brown
sugar, milk, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla
and egg.  Mix well.  Generously spray a
bundt pan with cooking spray or butter.
Sprinkle dark brown sugar in bottom of
pan, follow with pecan halves, then spoon
in sweet potato mixture.  Bake at 350
degrees for 1 hour.  Let cool 15 minutes
before removing from the mold.

                Yield: 8-10 servings.


If you have house guests here's a good meal-in-one breakfast
Yield: 6 servings (double as needed)

      1 pk Crescent rolls
      1 c  Ham, cubed
      8 oz Monterey Jack, sliced
      4    Eggs
    3/4 c  Milk
    1/2 c  Onions, chopped
  1 1/2 ts Mustard, Dijon
      1 ts Basil leaves

Preheat oven to 425.
Put crescent rolls in 13"x9" pan and press up side to form crust.
Sprinkle with ham, then cover with cheese.
Combine remaining ingredients and pour on top. Bake 20 minutes.

Christmas-January To Do List

1.  Blanch the carcass from your Thanksgiving turkey, taking care to
remove all meat, cartilage and sinew.
 Dry carcass thoroughly.  Spray paint the carcass gold, turn upside down,
 and use it as a sleigh to hold holiday
greeting cards.

2.  Outfit neighborhood rats with tiny antlers and elf uniforms.

3.  Deflate your car tires and re-fill them with Glade Holiday Scented air.
This way, when your tires get shot out or slashed at the mall, they will release a
fresh, cheery scent.

4.  Organize your spice rack by genus and phylum.

5.  When you receive your new phone book, use the old one as a personal
address book by simply crossing out names and addresses of people you
do not know.

                         Step 6: Take 3 more whiskeys of drink
                         Step 7: Turn oven the on
                         Step 8: Take 4 whisks of drinky
                         Step 9: Turk the bastey
                         Step 10: Whiskey another bottle of get
                         Step 11: Stick a turkey in the thermometer
                         Step 12: Glass yourself a pour of whiskey
                         Step 13: Bake the whiskey for 4 hours
                         Step 14: Take the oven out of the turkey
                         Step 15: Take the oven out of the turkey
                         Step 16: Floor the turkey up off of the pick
                         Step 17: Turk the carvey
                         Step 18: Get yourself another scottle of botch
                         Step 19: Tet the sable and pour yourself a glass
of turkey...
