BANDAI 1/100 MASTER GRADE RGM-79N KIT

>GUNDAM 0083 OVA<

DESCRIPTION

Developed as a mass production version of the Gundam NT-1 Alex. The RGM-79N GM was "fairly remarkable for being totally unremarkable". The kit is built mostly straight from the box with little modification. Many of the details like vents and the face are in a bag for the photo.

CHANGES

The insides of the waist armor and shoulder armor was filled with epoxy and scribed and carved after it set.

I modified the parts for the face, visor, and face armor to fit in after painting so the seam for the head could be filled and sanded.

Styrene tube and rod replaced the kit molded in hydraulic cylinders for the feet.

I used the shield and rifle from the GP-01 MG Kit.

I used B-Club Resin Hands to replace the kit hands. They do not hold the hand grip of the rifle very well.

FINISH

I painted the GM a rather basic color scheme. I first used a primer coat of Acrylic Med. Gray. Panel lines were traced with flat black. Testors Flat Enamel White was then airbrushed for the overall color. A custom blue was airbrushed for all the blue parts. Thinned Earth Brown was airbrushed around the feet and on various corners of the suit. An oil based wash was liberally applied to the suit and wiped it off with a soft cloth. Acrylics were drybrushed to highlight the suit. Pastels were used to weather exhaust ports and the lower legs to make it look more like a ground unit.
