| DESCRIPTION
The original RGM-78GM has always suffered an inferiority complex in the 0079 world. The mechanical designers must have realized this after the airing of the original series because after that, all the GMs are pretty tough looking. The GMs are the cannon fodder of the Gundam era and are only effective because of their vast production numbers. CHANGES This is the first in progress model I have documented. The modifications are too numerous to list them all. But highlights are: Refer to the images for additional changes. Used wave ball and socket for movable waist. Modified profile of head with putty and stryene. New shoulder details. Blended vents into torso. Modified the end of the bazooka to get rid of that "turkey shooter" look. Added propellant tanks to pack. Four thrusters will be added in place of two. The 0083 style shield with the RGM-79N was backdated to a 0080 style shield. FINISH An orange and grey scheme was chosen as a modified grey/red standard GM scheme. It was painted with Testors Acrylics. A white base coat was neccessary to brighten the orange as the first pass over a grey base coat was dull. An oil based wash was applied and wiped off with a soft cloth. The suit was drybrushed with Acrylics. A few spots were accented with pastels. Weathering was kept to a minimum as this is suppose to be a space type unit. |
