| DESCRIPTION
Bandai's HG kit is a pretty good offering. While not as advanced as the MG kits in terms of part design to minimize seams, it does a better job than any non-grade kit. The detail is crisp and the panel lines are very fine. There are a lot of moving components on this kit and a little toy-like when it is all said and done. In my opinion, it is one of the better non-UC designs and is the closest thing I have built to a Wing kit. I don't know anything about X series, but what images I have seen, I guess those shoulder cannons are solar powered (that's what all the gold is for) and they pack a planet destroying wallop. CHANGES I referenced a HJ issue which covered the 1/100 Bandai kit. Much of it revolved around modify parts and subassemblies for post painting assembly tricks. The gold plating was stripped off with oven cleaner. FINISH Paint - Testors Spray cans for all parts. No primer was used. Weathering - All panel lines, and there are a lot of them, were highlighted with water colors. No battle damage was applied for than Anime fresh look. |
