This Hall color glaze booklet documents over 150 color names and illustrates about 72 colors. In constructing this chart, I compared several items of a known color with each printed color sample. All the colors printed are quite close to the variation of colors that I have found on actual Hall items. In order to assure consistency, each individual chart is an original copy from a standardized color computer printer.
The guide is divided into five sections with each section considering different aspects of glaze colors, history, and identification. The last section is a listing with many descriptions of about 150 colors.
Since this chart will always be a work in progress additional information and corrections will be available here.
A special thanks to the many Hall collectors who graciously shared their knowledge, gave freely of their time, and who willingly lent me their Hall sample tiles, advertisements, and catalogs to further this project.
