  Omedeto! [Congratulations!] Don. Our returning Aikido warrior Don Plumber passed his first (5th Kyu) of many Aikido tests. Under the proctorship of Sensei Sugano, 8th Dan at the NY Aikikai. On 10/15/2000. Sensei Wemberly was there to sponser Don. And took pictures & movie clips.
The Russian Aikidoka. This year we have been blessed to have a visiting Russian Aikidoka from St. Petersburg, Russia. Andre Shaforostov. He's fifteen years-old, an exchange student at SI Tech high school. From Sept. 8 to Dec. 15. In Russia, he studies Aikido at the Shinkai Dojo in St. Petersburg. (His sensei is the President of the St. Petersburg Aikido Federation.) Andre started Aikido training in 1995. He'll be going back home to mother Russia Dec. 15. So, please, wish him well before he goes back home.
