Welcome to Trills
cattery located near Gainesville, Florida. We are Star Trek
fans and selected the name Trills after the episode "The
Trouble With Tribbles". Tribbles were precious little furry
things that made a trill sound. And what better describes the
Maine Coon cat - a gentle giant with a small, trilling voice.
We got our first
Maine Coon in 1995 and started showing at that time and learning
all we could. We fell in love with this wonderful breed and
bought our first cat for our breeding program the following
year. Our goal is to breed healthy cats with a wonderful temperament.
Our cats are our family and are raised truly underfoot. Each
one gets a lot of love and handling so they are used to being
loved on and come to expect it.
Our breeding cats
are Champions or Grand Champions. They have been tested for
Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) and our cattery is HCM negative.
All kittens going to a new home are litter box and scratching
post trained, have all their shots, are FeLV and FIV negative,
have a Florida State Health Certificate, and CFA registration.
Pet quality kittens are spayed or neutered before they go to
their new homes. We do require a written contract and our babies
are to be indoor cats only.
We
are a small cattery with just a few litters a year. All the babies
are born in our bedroom and are handled from day one. We have
a closed cattery, which means we own the males and females used
in our breeding program. We specialize in the brown patch tabbies,
brown classic tabbies, and red classic tabbies. Kittens can be
with or without white.
Trills
is registered with ACFA, CFA and TICA. We are also a member of
the Maine Coon Breed Council in CFA. We show mainly in CFA and
belong to the North Central Florida Cat Club in Gainesville and
to the Tropical Cats Cat Club in Deland.
