Entry #45 Friday, October 11th, 2002. Got to be honest here, I don't really have anything of major earth shaking importance to share, but my last Diary Entry ended on such a down note that I had to come up with something to replace it. With that being said, I guess that it is babble time. :) And begin! I have a cousin (female) who is a police officer right? Well she comes and visits the other day and during her stay notices that the Inspection Sticker on the Black Manta has expired. When I heard about this, I thought to myself, "Self, that's weird, I never forget stuff like that?" Now guess when it expired? October . . . . of LAST YEAR! LOL So now I'm torn between two trains of thought, [1] Do I just go ahead and get it taken care of? or [2] Hell, I've went this long, let's see how long I can go? LOL Knowimean? I finally caved in and bought the second book in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, "The Two Towers," the other day. I wanted to watch the movie before I read the book, but temptation finally got to me. Most people like to read the book first, but in my opinion, the only way to enjoy both is to watch the movie first. Here's why, 99.9% of the time, the book is better than than the movie, for the simple reason that there is only so much action and detail that you can cram in a two or even three hour movie. But if you watch the movie first, then you don't really know what you missed from the book. Follow me? So you're not disappointed, and you will actually enjoy the book even more by finding out about all the stuff that the movie left out! See? See what I did there? And begin! Can't wait to see Red Dragon! I actually read that book about 4 years ago (but don't tell anyone that because everyone thinks that I only read comics) and it was very good then, just as good, in my opinion as Silence of The Lambs. The heel (that's bad guy in super secret wrestler talk) is really creepy, and I've heard that he is portrayed very well in the film. And speaking of comics (who, what, when, where?) one of my favorite books is coming to an end, Transmetropolitan by DC/Vertigo. For those that don't know, the Vertigo line of books by DC Comics is "suggested for mature readers" but I read it anyway :) and I seriously hate to see this series conclude. The book was written by Warren Ellis and drawn by Darick Robertson who are just two of the top writers and artists, respectively, in their fields. I will basically read anything that has the name Warren Ellis in the credits. In a related story, Hurri-Fans around the globe unite in their support for Black Adam! News at 11:00! In an even more related story, Hurri-Fans scream "DC's Captain Marvel SUCKS! Every book he's in gets cancelled, take a freakin' hint why don't ya!!!!!!" And begin! I've gotten a ton of questions about me not wearing the top to my Hurricane outfit anymore. Well, the reasoning to that is easy enough, it barely fits anymore! I've got some new designs being . . . uh, designed, so I guess we'll see how they turn out when they arrive. Going without the top on Smackdown was cool as I was one of the bigger cruiserwieghts (well, tallest anyway) but on RAW standing next to Kane . . . I think I might need to put that shirt back on! LOL Speaking of shirts (see what I did there?) check out the Merchandise section as new items have been added for both NEW and OLD Hurri-fans alike! LOL (A little Cheese please!) And begin! Quick Note: The Jericho Shuffle (that Muhammed Ali dancing/boxing think he does in the ring) is currently my favorite thing to see in a match! Don't ask why, cuz I don't know! Anyway, I think that is enough nonsense for one day! Feel free to reply with question, comments, or concerns at shane@shanehelms.com. I'm not gonna promise to reply, but I will read it at least, fighting crime keeps me pretty busy ya know? Until next time, Shane Scroll down! AND BEGIN! :) |
