 The Life and Times of Shane Helms Entry #37 Wednesday, May 16th, 2001. What's up Addicts? Well as I wait for the "New" WCW to start back up, I'm having a great time on the indy scene. My latest exploits have included a shot for IWC in PA. That was a ton of fun thanks to my friend Thomas Howell who took me to see The Mummy Returns. The Rock did great in his silver screen debut and I look forward to seeing "The Scorpion King." I'm a real big fan of ancient Egyptian history and myth, so stuff like that is cool to me anyway. Here's a weird little happening: after the movie Thomas and I went to a Dave & Busters, which is some huge video game complex (I will not mention how bad I beat Thomas in Virtual Tennis). Anyway, I was wearing a silk sleeveless shirt. Well apparently, this "big-time" game room doesn't allow sleeveless shirts. So I was like, "No biggie, what do I do?" I was told that I could "buy" a D&B T-shirt! LOL, now we see the gimmick. So, anyway I scurry around for some pennies to buy this shirt ($5.00) but when they bring it out, it's all wrinkled! Get that! So I say, "You got an iron back there or what?" LOL! I mean they want to uphold some kind of image, so they make me take off a shirt that cost more than 20 of their shirts combined and looks a million times better to wear some shirt that made me look like I just got mugged! LOL But, I wore it and still had a great time regardless. It was a very cool place! The next day I flew back to NC for an appearance for my favorite indy the Carolina Wrestling Federation (CWF) in Graham, NC. Incidentally I will be wrestling for the CWF on June 23rd. Check out the Appearances section for more details. Next, I flew out to Denver, CO to wrestle for the Central Wrestling Organization (CWO). Had a great match, and had a great time hanging with old WCW'ers Jimmy Hart, Madusa, and Sonny Onoo as well as all the CWO workers. The night was made even better as we all ate at a Denny's with the world's most disgruntled waiter serving us. LOL. Big thanks to Bob Verhey and Dan Magnus for taking care of me out there! This weekend is one I've been looking forward to for a long time! It's the Motor City Comic Con in Novi, MI. I will be there Fri and Sun, while doing an indy shot in Marion, IN for the Extreme Wrestling Federation on the Saturday in between. I'm very especially excited about meeting Lou Ferrigno! For those of you who don't know, Ferrigno was the Hulk in "The Incredible Hulk" TV Series. When I was a kid, I lived by that show! If it was on, I was watching! That would have to be probably my ALL-TIME favorite action series! I loved that show! For all the ICP fans out there, I just talked to Shaggy and he informed me that there tour is going great and that they are insane as always! Speaking of which, if you haven't heard ICP's rendition of "Let's Go All The Way" you really need to check that out, it rocks!
