 The Life and Times of Shane Helms Entry #36 Wednesday, May 2nd, 2001. What's up Addicts? How about Lenny Lane and Sugar Shane? lol I recently flew to Dallas, TX to work for Texas Championship Wrestling (TCW) to team with Lenny Lane against Texas Tag-Team Champions, The Overboyz! Well, at the end of the night, new TCW Tag Champions were crowned! TCW has a great bunch of "hard working" guys! Check them out if you get the chance! Speaking of indy's, the WWF has given me permission to work as many as I want until the WCW relaunch! So, my next show had me making an appearance for Southern Championship Wrestling (SCW) in Raleigh, NC. That night saw me teaming up with Cham Pain (that's first name: Cham, last name: Pain!) to take on William Wealth (the Richie Rich of SCW) and my former 3Count partner Shannon Moore! The ending saw Cham Pain hit his "Pain Killer" on Shannon, while I delivered "The Nightmare on Helms Street" to Wealth for a double pin that was double sweet! SCW is truly one of the BEST indy's I've ever seen! So what else is new? Well this past weekend, I flew to Atlanta for a little shingding at Klub Kanyon! Now for those of you that don't know, Chris Kanyon has this setup in his back yard (I'm not sure that I should even call it a yard) that includes, a sandy volleyball court, a horseshoe pit, a miniature putt-putt green, a swimming pool, a hottub, a lagoon, a fully-loaded bar with outdoor TV, and a lagoon! No joke! Anyway, the event was a part Backlash party, part going away party for Tony Mamaluke who is moving back to NY. Got to see a lot of my WCW friends, which was as added plus. Needless to say, the party was a bliz-ast! I spent most of the day playing volleyball on a team that should have been dominate, but instead got whooped constantly by a team headed by Jimmy Yang of The Jung Dragons. It was unbelievable! We were bigger, faster, and stronger, but they beat us silly! Damn that Yang! The next day, Kanyon, myself, and James Mitchell (who was James Vandenberg in WCW and who is always referred to as Vandy), went to a local SpeedZone. Now SpeedZone is this little thing-a-ma-jig where you race go-carts and dragsters and things like that! This was also an absolute blast, with the highlight being a race on the slick track that saw Kanyon and myself surpassing all others and vying for first place, until an overly aggressive Sugar Shane caused a collision, which spun both Kanyon and myself out while at the same time impeding the progress of all around us! Now Vandy, who up until this point had held a steady grip on LAST PLACE, took advantage of this situation and passed everyone!!! On the last lap!! To win the thing!! DAMN IT!! LOL, so from that day forward, we decided that that particular SpeedZone shall be known as the VANDY 500! Be sure to check out my Appearances Section to see if I will be coming to an area near you!
