 The Life and Times of Shane Helms Entry #35 Wednesday, April 11th, 2001. What's up Addicts? So, has anything interesting happened in wrestling lately? lol Wow! What a crazy past few months! Since last I wrote, Shannon and I split, then Shannon and Evan reformed a 3rd version of 3Count, while I became the WCW World Cruiserweight Champion. Not to mention, one of the biggest single events in the history of pro wrestling, Vince McMahon buying WCW! And for those of you wondering, yes, the WWF did pick up my contract. Thanks to everyone who wrote in concerned about me! I always hoped that I would eventually end up in the WWF, but I never imagined that it would be under these circumstances. What this means exactly, I have no idea, but I can't wait for the new WWF owned WCW to get started!!!! My time off since the last Nitro has been relaxing though, yeah right! I'm still staying pretty busy these days. There are a lot of new "things" on the horizon for Shane Helms, and it's going to be a hell of a ride! Speaking of the last Nitro, Panama City, Florida was out of control! We (Kanyon, myself, Jason Jett, Kidman, Torrie Wilson, and Jeremy "The Madd Commentator" Borash) partied with Steve O and Wee-Man from MTV's Jackass, and let me assure you those guys are insane! During a show in PC, Kidman, Kanyon, Jason, and I took part in a "Wee-Man Toss" that was absolutely hysterical. For those of you who don't know, Wee-Man is a midget, oops, I mean a vertically challenged person, lol, and we did toss his ass! Then, Steve O did a standing moonsault, in a thong (don't ask), with rubbing alcohol in his mouth, his hand on fire (swear), and while in mid-flip, spit the alcohol out of his mouth at his burning hand to make this huge fireball! I lost my mind when I saw that! The crowd was going nuts, we we're going nuts, Wee-Man was kicking people in the nuts, THE INSANITY OF IT ALL!!!!! Then, we saw this band, The Velcro Pygmies, who were soooo awesome! Check out their website and go see them if you get a chance! The finale of their show saw them bringing us up on stage, and I got to play the drums on the last song along with their drummer, who was the BEST drummer that I've ever seen! This guy was a madman with the sticks! I'll be honest, I don't even know how to play the drums, but I was beating the hell out of those things for all I was worth! lol That was definitely one of the best times I've ever had in my life! I paid for it the next day though, as I came down with what I thought was the flu, later to be revealed as bronchitis, and had to stay in the hotel bed all day long! My bed rest continued for about a week and a half when I got home too. That sucks big time! But, I'm all better now, so I need another excuse to stay in the bed all day. I am one lazy human being. lol Congrats are in order to my man Booker T. on his latest WCW Heavyweight Title win. Booker is one of my favorite people and wrestlers in this entire business! Also congrats to Jeff Hardy on his win over HHH for the IC Title. Both Jeff and HHH are two of the best in the world! You will notice that my DVD collection (see About Shane) has really grown, and 75% of that came from my Addicts! Molly (as always), Melissa, Keith (us comic fans have to stick together!), Chrys (who sent me some "adult" DVD which I couldn't put on the list, but I appreciated anyway lol), Cam, and Kelly, you guys are too much! Love ya! Thanks also go out to Laura, April, Tanika, Billy, Tyler, and Jamie for the various things that they sent!!! My newest favorite songs are: "Ain't No Sunshine" by DMX, and "Follow Me" by Uncle Kracker. Both are really sweet. Check em out! To my comic fans, how awesome was Hitman? A great series that came to an end, but an ending that made you realize just how great this series really was. It's amazing how much comics have changed and matured in the last 5-10 years alone. I think that I would have been scared to read some of these modern comics as a kid. lol The ones to read lately are: Powers [Image], Soul Saga [Image], Midnight Nation [Image/Top Cow], Superstar [Image], JSA [DC], and Black Panther [Marvel]. Btw, be sure to check out the latest (and maybe last?) issue of WCW Magazine as I finally made the cover! Sweet! Now I've gotten quite a few emails recently asking my opinion on some of the "topics" that have been posted on the Message Board lately. Well, let me just say that while I will still generally approve anything that people post, I do find it extemely odd some of the things that people will post on a wrestler's website, any wrestler's website. But hey, that's just me. And in closing I want to thank everyone for being so patient with the Shane Asylum as it does take a lot of personal time and effort to keep this site running!
