![]() The Life and Times of Shane Helms Entry #34 Saturday, Feb. 17th, 2001. What's up Addicts? Well before I start packing for Nashville, TN, site of WCW's next PPV SuperBrawl Revenge (go Shannon go) I decided that I would throw together a little Diary Entry for the Addicts at large. :) First off, the movie to go see is Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon! That movie rocks big time! Some of you may be too young to remember, but back in the diz-ay, every Saturday around noon, Kung-Fu Theater would come on television. This movie was such a reminder of those days for me. But instead of the stereotypical "words not matching the lips" gimmick (ala Kaientai or La Parka) the movie uses sub-titles. Now I got accustomed to the subtitles in like 2 minutes, but I've heard that some people didn't like it (reading is hard for some you know, lol), but the movie still gets 5 stars from me! And now I've been practiceing the hidden martial art of "The Flying Turtle Technique." Who wants some? lol But on the same topic, yet different note, I also saw The Pledge, and it blew! No stars from me, in fact I've giving it a Black Hole! Good to see AJ Styles, and Air Paris added to WCW's Cruiserweight roster! But I think that maybe we should all take up a collection and buy Paris a new outfit! lol But seriously, I met Paris back in my Nashville days and the guy is good, take my word on that! AJ, I've only seen a few times, but he is also very impressive. The division is just going to get better and better in my opinion. And what's this little whisper in the wind that I hear about 2 more Omegans possibly making their way to WCW? Hmmm? We'll see! I had a great time in Biloxi, MS last Monday night. I was in the casino in the Isle of Capri Hotel ALL NIGHT LONG! Now I never really considered myself much of a gambler, and that night certainly proved it! lol I didn't go in the hole to bad though, I got my wits, and I ain't taking no hits on some sillyness like that! For fans of MP3's, the gadget to get is the Nomad Jukebox. It's the size of a portable CD Player, and holds close to 2000 songs! Really neat. I also want to thank the peeps that have been sending me pics (hard copies) that I might be able to use on the site. But right now I'm have some (how to be polite here?) um, "issues" with Windows ME. My scanner doesn't work, my CD-Writer doesn't work, I can't hook my Cell Phone up to it, and I can't hook my Palm up to it either. What I'm trying to say is that this new laptop SSSUUUCCCKKKSSS!!! lol And you know I hate to end on sad notes, but two of my good friends suffered a couple of losses this week, so I want to offer my condolences to the families of David Arquette who lost his father, and Michael Yamaha who lost his grandmother. Mike's grandmother let Mike and I put a ring in her backyard back in my indy days. She had such a neat house and nice yard, but she still let us put this ugly looking, piece of trash ring in her yard just so we could practice. She was a very sweet lady and I'll miss her. Arquette's father played Jimmy King's dad in Ready to Rumble. I never got to meet him, but he must have been a good father to raise such a great guy like David! That's all for now, see ya later, Sugar |
