Blood, Broken Bones, and The Back Street Boys!

What's up Addicts?

Can anyone say, "Ouch?" Less than two weeks after having my head busted open by The Dog, I get my nose broken while facing The Jung Dragons. And yes, there is surgery in my future. The real downside though, was missing out on the opportunity to get in the ring with the legendary Terry Funk, while the upside was that WE STOLE THE SHOW!

But, was I going to miss WCW's Uncensored PPV? Hell no! I was in the doctor's office all day the Thursday before the PPV getting a mask molded to protect my nose, because of the fact that my nose hasn't even healed yet, and the nature of the fracture, one hit and it's going to break again, so don't expect to see the face of Sugar Shane for a while. (Hey, that might be a blessing to some!)

And did ya see the big "SUGAR SHACK" sign on Nitro 2 weeks ago? Sweet!

On a similar note, I don't know what I can do to get people to understand the autograph situation. IF YOU DON'T SEND A SELF-ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE WITH PROPER POSTAGE, I am not going to send you anything. And please, do not ask me to get Shannon, Evan, Sting, El Dandy, Roddy Piper or any other member of WCW to sign anything for you, that is not my place. Also, please note that I have a new Post Office Box number (746) to deal with the volume of mail that I am getting.

The Spring Break-Out Tour is now over, but man, I had a lot of fun doing that. From Florida State University to South Padre Island in Texas, the sun was hot and the bikinis were even hotter!!! As some of you might know FSU is the home of my second favorite college team, The Seminoles! You either got to "Back the Pack or Role with the Noles!"

As far as South Padre goes . . . lets' just say that Sugar had fun in the sun!!!! I have to give a special nod here to Mr. Party and "The Man Who Can Out-Draw Anybody in WCW" Lash LeRoux! Lash went nuts in South Padre. Did I also mention the near arrest of . . . wait-a-minute, I better not divulge that little bit of information. Sorry addicts.

Did you guys see Kaz's rendition of "Can't Get You Outta My Heart?" Man, that was hysterical! I think that Kaz has a future . . . just not in music, unlike 3 Count who just recorded a new song that is going to drive people crazy. Wait until you hear this one!

I saw Beyond the Mat again for the third time last week, this time with "The Big Daddy" Mike Maverick, and "Surge-O" Matt Hardy, not to mention a certain little monkey that was tagging along. It was a first for them and they all enjoyed it. I certainly recommend it for all of you.

And speaking of the "Big Daddy", from what I've heard he is doing awesome so far in the WWF. Great job Mike.

But as far as wrestling movies go, this week I will be traveling to Hollywood, C-C-California to attend the premiere of "Ready to Rumble!" And from what I've heard the movie is awesome!!!!

I hit myself with a couple of new CD's this week: Santana, Big Daddy Kane's newest, FunkMaster Flex's latest "The Tunnel" and South Park Mexican's "The 3rd Wish". Now all of these are good, but South Park Mexican is absolutely slamming. Tracks number 1 and 7 especially! Check it out.

As for DVD's I got "The Sixth Sense", "The Shawshank Redemption," "Erotique," "The 13th Warrior," "Spawn" (The HBO Animated Series), and the original "A Nightmare on Helms (Uh, I mean Elm) Street." Hey, I'm hurt, so I splurged!

I also had a chance to revisit Prince's (The Artist or whatever) "Purple Rain" Album (courtesy of Nitro Girl Tigress) and "THE" retro jam of the week is "Darling Nikki!" Check that one out if you haven't heard it, (girls under 18 need their parents permission to listen.)

And finally, I guess that everyone noticed the new look of The Shane Asylum. I have to give proper motivational credit to Nicole, who got me jump started on making the changes. Thanks Nicole, and to everyone else, I hope that is was worth the wait!

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention Nick and Brian of the Back Street Boys! Well, to begin with I would like to thank Nick for the invitation to join them in "The Bucs -vs- The Boys" Celebrity Basketball Game (does that mean that I am a celebrity now?). The Bucks by-the-way were a team lead by Tampa Bay Buccaneer stars, and I believe a few members of the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Boys of course was comprised of the BSB, 3 Count, and others, not to mention our coach, Hulk Hogan, and assistant coach, Jimmy Hart. Anyway, we played, we won, and we had a great time!

On a final note, I want to thank everyone for all the wonderful emails, cards, and letters that I have received regarding my injury. It really makes everything worth while! Thanks again!

That's all for now, see ya later,
Shane Helms
