Diary of a Serial Thriller
The Life and Times of Shane Helms

Entry #1 Wednesday, September 29th, 1999.

I have so much to catch you up on that I don't know where to start.

But, here we go . . . as most of you know, I signed with WCW in May! It was literally a dream come true! And I will freely admit that after I was informed of the news that I was being offered a contract with WCW I almost cried! I had my first match in 1991!!! So, you have to understand when I tell you that it had been a long time in coming!!!

From there, I was asked to work on the WCW/Warner Bros. movie. (It still hasn't been named.) I came out to assist Kanyon in coordinating the wrestling scenes in the movie, and to keep Chris from going nuts out in Hollywood by himself. It is a different way of life out here! From there, I got offered the job of being a stunt double for David Arquette, which I took, and I will tell you that movie making is hard work with hellish hours!!

I filmed my first scene yesterday, and I did my first actual stunt today. I can't go into details, but let me assure that I was more than a little nervous. It takes guts to me a stuntman, and I have a newfound respect for the work that these stuntmen and women do.

Now, enough about work, lets talk about play!!!!

Since I have been in L.A. I have met Oliver Platt, David Arquette, Scott Cann, Rose McGowan, Dennis Miller, Dennis Rodman, Oleg Taktarov and Marco Ruas from UFC fame, as well as running into Drew Carrey in an airport. I have been to Universal Studios twice and had a blast each time. I have seen "The Sixth Sense" twice, and let me tell you that this is a "must-see" movie!

I ran into the WWF's Women's Champion Ivory last Friday and I had a very enjoyable lunch with her. She is a funny lady.

I met and befriended "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels, an independent worker who is incredibly talented! I hope that something happens for him soon. I also got the chance to see Michael Modest work and he is pretty damn talented himself!

Well, that was a very limited view of recent happenings in my life, but I will try to be more detailed in future entries.

Later,
Shane Helms
